This weed reaching 2metres in height is resistant to glyphosate -normally used to control weeds. It has been identified in the Northern Cape region in South Africa.
In May2019, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reaffirmed the safety of glyphosate, finding it is not a carcinogen. Their Decision found there are no risks to public health when glyphosate is used in accordance with its label.
